THE NEW RULES OF MARKSMANSHIP

What Are the New Rules of Marksmanship?

MINDSET

When it comes to learning how to shoot, most novices incorrectly believe that if they want to shoot well, the first skills they need to practice are standing, gripping the firearm, and pulling the trigger. The truth is that learning any skill begins with training your mind. Using the New Rules of Marksmanship, you’ll learn how to quickly become an M.V.P. Shooter with Meditation, Visualization, and Positive Thinking.

PLANNING

Try to imagine taking a road trip, and you want to ensure you arrive at your destination quickly without wasting any gas. Would you plan out your route, or get in the car and hope for the best? My best is you’re smart enough to do some planning! When learning how to shoot, planning is critical to reaching your goals as quickly as possible. As a New Rules Shooter, you’ll have a GPS to help you navigate.

PHYSICS

The laws of physics govern everything we do here on Earth, from how we breathe to how a firearm causes an equal and opposite reaction to the force applied (i.e., the gun goes “bang”). With this empirical knowledge comes a much better understanding of the forces necessary to control any firearm and ensure each round hits its intended target. While methods work for some, the New Rules of Marksmanship mechanics work for everyone.

FOCUS

Learning to shoot a firearm effectively is not hard – if you know where to focus. The problem, which even many experienced shooters struggle with, is not only where to focus but also how to focus effectively. By combining New Rules skills like Mindset (learning to focus the mind) and Physics (understanding how the eyes function), and utilizing scientifically proven tools and techniques that allow you to focus faster, which in turn equates to shooting faster.

CONDITIONING

If you want to learn a complex skill, the fastest way is to break it down into its smallest pieces (called chunks), practice each one, and then put them together like a puzzle. If you want the skills to stick, you also need to learn without stress (i.e., “Bang”). Think of any professional sports team. Do they play games to practice or run drills? Practitioners of the New Rules of Marksmanship use dry weapon training as their “drills” in Conditioned Response Training (CRT).

DELIBERATE PRACTICE

Many people think that repetition is the key to improving at any given skill. Others will argue that practice makes permanent, and only perfect practice is needed. Although both of these statements are true, they are incomplete. If doing something a lot made us better, we would all type at 5000 WPM – even if we did it perfectly. New Rules of Marksmanship Shooters focus on practicing specific elements to improve upon, not just meaningless repetition.

CONSTANT FEEDBACK

The only thing worse than not practicing is practicing the wrong thing. Every time you perform a skill, you are teaching your body to do it that way again next time. So, if you’re doing it wrong, even just once, you’re not getting better; you’re getting worse. The good news is that there are plenty of easy (and free) ways to get constant feedback so you can quickly start Paving Your Path to Perfection! By taking the New Rules of Marksmanship Course, you’ll discover the best ways to get feedback.

Having attended multiple hands-on instructional courses in firearms training, I was impressed with how Chris broke down the fundamentals in a way I’d not seen before. This explanation has really helped me grasp a lot of the why in recognizing my bad habits and working to correct them.

Chris Sajnog

INSTRUCTOR

I’m Chris Sajnog (pronounced Sigh-Nog) the best-selling author of How to Shoot Like A Navy SEAL and Navy SEAL Shooting. I am a retired US Navy SEAL Instructor who literally “wrote the book” on Navy SEAL Sniper Training.

The Naval Special Warfare Command (WARCOM) selected me to develop the curriculum for the current U.S. Navy SEAL Sniper training program. I’ve grown from training elite students to becoming the premier firearms instructor-trainer in the United States, Canada, Europe and South America.

My work with the Navy SEALs lead me to become the founder of Center Mass Group (CMG), a company involved in the elite level weapons and tactics training to military, paramilitary, law enforcement, and civilian consumers.

My schedule quickly filled up with running courses for the military and law enforcement teams. I received hundreds of emails each week from civilians wanting to learn how to shoot, but I couldn’t help them.

That’s why I published How To Shoot Like A Navy SEAL in 2013 and it quickly became an Amazon bestseller for shooting.

I was amazed at the response it received and it helped motivate me to write my next shooting book, Navy SEAL Shooting, which was released on August 31, 2015.

All the while, I was perfecting my New Rules of Marksmanship and in 2017 I released the first and only firearms training workbook, the New Rules of Marksmanship.

I’ve always believed that success is a skill that can be learned.

BEING AN INNOVATIVE INSTRUCTOR IS MY PASSION.
I’ve developed unique kinesthetic learning techniques and improved instructional theories that can help train anyone to perform at their peak level.

My passion for training and excellence goes far beyond the firing range. My mission here is to see others realize their full potential, achievement, growth, and success – and CURE THE DISEASE OF MEDIOCRITY!

“WITH CONSISTENT, PERFECT PRACTICE YOU ARE PAVING THE PATH TO PERFECTION.”
